I’m getting the error ‘resource limit is reached’ on my website – why?

On our shared hosting servers, we have a component in place that will limit resource usage on an account to prevent it from using up all the resources on the server, as this would affect the overall server performance and have a direct negative effect on all other users in the same server.

An account can reach its resource limit for multiple reasons – the most common reasons are resource intensive applications, small attacks and brute force attacks. The error is not definitive and will disappear as the account goes back within the limits. Only the requests that will make the account exceed the limit on resources will receive the error.

If you are getting this error on your website, it is likely that you are not on the most suitable hosting package for your needs. Please get in contact with our Sales team and they will be happy to advise the best course of action here.
