How do I delete a cPanel account on my Reseller hosting?

To delete a cPanel account, please refer to the following steps:

First, you will need to log in to your WHM, you can access this from your client area.

  • Click on Services > My Services to list your reseller package
  • Click on the green Active button to the right of the reseller package and then on Login to WHM under the Actions menu on the left. This will open a new tab with your WHM

There are two ways to remove a cPanel account, one at a time via the “List Accounts” section or in bulk via the “Terminate Accounts” section.

For instructions on how to delete/remove one at a time please see the following:
On the top right of WHM, use the search box to find "List Accounts"

  • From the list of cPanel accounts, click the + plus icon button on the left-hand side of the domain name for the specific cPanel account you intend to delete
  • Under actions, select ‘Terminate Account’
  • Click “Yes, remove this account” to finalise the process

For instructions on how to delete/remove multiple accounts at once in bulk please see the following:
On the top right of WHM, use the search box to find "Terminate Accounts"

  • Use the checkboxes on the left to mark an account for deletion, there is also a check-all option.
  • Check whether to Keep the DNS Zone or leave it unchecked to also delete the DNS zone along with the cPanel account *see below for more information
  • Click “Remove selected account” to finalise the process

*Generally, if you are deleting an account from your reseller plan you will also want to delete the DNS zone(s) associated with the account. However, the domain names may not have been configured with nameservers for their new provider and may need more time to move the DNS records across, Keeping the DNS zones will ensure that the domains do not go fully offline during any handoff period.

If you would like to take a backup of the cPanel account before deleting it, please see: How to take backups of the cPanel accounts on my Reseller hosting?
