Configure Dreamweaver for FTP

Please see the following on how to configure Dreamweaver for FTP:

  1. Select Site > Manage Sites.
  2. Click New to set up a new site, or select an existing Dreamweaver site and click the edit icon.
  3. In the Site Setup dialog box, select the Servers category and do one of the following:
  4. Click the Add New Server button to add a new server.
Or: Select an existing server and click the Edit Existing Server button.
  5. In the Server Name text box, specify a name for the new server. This can be something like “The LetsHost Server”
  6. Select FTP from the Connect Using pop-up menu.
  7. In the FTP Address text box, enter your FTP hostname (usually ftp.your-domain-name.ie or the IP address from your welcome email)
  8. In the Username and Password text boxes, enter the FTP username and password found in your welcome email (generally the same as your cPanel user/pass)
  9. Click to test these details
  10. In the root directory space, enter “public_html”. This is the directory which already exists on the server where your website files must be placed.
  11. In the Web URL text box enter the URL of your website (for example, http://www.your-domain-name.ie). Dreamweaver uses the Web URL to create site root-relative links, and to verify links when you use the link checker.

Your new website should be ready to upload via Dreamweaver.
