Enabling SSL on your WordPress website

If you would like your WordPress to load all content over ‘https://’, for example if you have set up a new SSL Certificate on your website, you will need to do this via your WordPress Dashboard.

In order update the website address within WordPress, you will first need to login to your WordPress Dashboard (usually via http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin, replacing ‘yourdomain.com’ with your actual domain name).

Once logged in, go to Settings and click on General. There are two fields that need to be updated, ‘WordPress Address’ and ‘Site Address’. Change these from ‘http://’ to ‘https://’ and click Save Changes.

You can also use the Really Simple SSL plugin to achieve this.
