Can I register a placename as a .ie domain?

Yes, it is now possible to register a placename as a .ie domain name.

Up until recently, it was not possible to register a placename as a .ie domain without first getting permission from the local county council. If the domain name is available, you can place an order online for it via our website.

If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to Open Ticket and we will be happy to advise further.
