File system check ongoing server lh44 (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Server - lh44
  • Due to a problem with the file system the server required a reboot and it is currently ongoing a file system check. A server restore is also being carried out.

06:23 - The data has restored however one partition is showing errors. This is possibly due to a hardware failure occuring over a number of days and data in backups also being effected. We are working on this subsection of data and will update at 7am.

07:12 - This work continues. We should have an ETA by 7.45am

07:45am - The restore process took approx 6 hours and restored all data, however the file system which puts structure to this data remains damaged, indicating that the problem has existed within the file system for some days. This would have been untraceable until a server reboot.

As the restore of the file system has failed. We plan on recreating this file system environment on another server and synchronizing the data across. This process will take several hours and our initial ETA on service restoration is 3pm today.

Our priority will be to get client's email functioning again and we will work to put a holding page for any affected domain indicating the 'site is currently offline due to technical reasons' or similar.

We will update the status section of the client area (support - network status) throughout the day with progress updates.

15:05 - The restore of data is ongoing and some accounts are back online already, while others are still being worked on. We will update this status again at 18:00 this evening when we have more information.

18:18 - The server restore is ongoing and alot of accounts and websites are back online and functioning as they should. There remains a number of accounts that are yet to be restored and our admins are working on these accounts throughout the evening. If you are experiencing any issues past midnight, please open a support ticket via your client area.

17/04/2012 09:00 - The restore of this server is complete. A small number of users have experienced some issues with permissions after their data was restored. If your website / email is not working at this time, please email support@letshost.ie with your domain and your domain will be looked after with priority.

We apologize for this break in service and can assure all clients we take this issue seriously and are working to resolve as soon as possible.
