How do I upload files to my hosting account?

If you are designing your website on your own computer, you will need to upload the website files to your hosting account to bring the website online.

To upload the files, you can do this via your cPanel control panel or via FTP.

For instructions on how to upload your website files via FTP, please visit this knowledgebase article. For instructions on how to upload your website files via your cPanel control panel, please see the following.

  1. First, you will need to log in to your cPanel control panel
  2. Once logged in, click on the icon for File Manager under the Files section
  3. When uploading files that you wish to be accessible online, they will need to be uploaded to the ‘public_html’ directory. If you have added a second domain to your hosting account (as an addon domain if you are hosting a second website on the same account), the directory for this addon domain will typically be ‘public_html/addon-domain-name’

If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to 'Open a Ticket' and we will be happy to advise further.
